Well, it’s the last Gay Guy Friday of 2024. A week from now we’ll be tuning into the newest season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and kicking off the first weekend of 2025. I haven’t been so active on the blog lately, but don’t worry, I’m still here. For the past two months, I’ve been fighting demons and drunk bitches in the coat check line.
I see a lot of people calling 2024 a terrible year… no shade, mine was alright. Okay yes, I was unemployed for two months and also I got hit by an electric scooter and also I am being audited by an insurance company (#DenyDefendDepose), but all things considered, I still had a lovely time. In my lowest moments, this year reminded me of something I’ve always known- no matter what I face, I can and I will survive.
So if you were part of the last 360-something days, either through this blog or in person, I am giving you a little kiss on the forehead and a pat on the back. And now we look to the future. 2025. Wow. So sleek. So elegant. Something shifted. Did y’all feel that? New York is about to become Miami.
This might be the last year of life as we know it, so we might as well go all out. I dare any reader, politician, or even the universe itself to try to stop me from being outside.

My current soundtrack in anticipation for 2025 is The Emancipation of Mimi (2005). It’s a personal manifestation of what I want the year to look and feel like. Parties, bottles, jewelry, good music, good company, the club, torrid passionate affairs, redemption, and Mariah Carey.
Aside from Mariah, there’s no telling how much the year will actually align with this vision, but for now… it’s a special occasion. Mimi’s emancipation. Right… See y’all next year x
